45th Annual Statesmen’s Dinner Set to Feature Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves

COLUMBIA, Tennessee – Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Scott Golden spoke with The Tennessee Star recently about the biggest event of the year: the 45th Annual Statesmen’s Dinner.

“This year is the 45th Annual Statesmen’s Dinner. It’s going to be taking place on July 30 at the Music City Center in downtown Nashville. The reception starts at 5 o’clock. Generally, it has one of the biggest crowds of any political dinner outside of Washington, D.C. in the country,” he said.

“This year we are pretty blessed to have secured as our speaker the Governor of Mississippi Tate Reeves, particularly in light of the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding the Mississippi law that ultimately resulted in the overturning of Roe v. Wade,” Golden emphasized.

“So Governor Tate Reeves will be the keynote speaker that night. There are a lot of other plans. It is one of the best political events in the nation. We honor one person, one grassroots activist across the state from each congressional district,” described the chairman.

“Members of Congress, U.S. senators, the governor, state legislators, and local elected officials attend. It’s going to be the Saturday before the August 4 primary election on Thursday. My hunch is that everybody will be pretty tired but you’ll have adrenaline kicking in for that last week,” he said.

“It should be an excellent opportunity for everybody to be together. Normally, we have anywhere between 1,300 to 1,500 people that show up. It is just a great night of good fellowship with Republicans, a wonderful program, and a lot of speeches,” Golden said.

“It is a good chance to see everybody,” he added.

Tickets for the 45th Annual Statesmen’s Dinner at Music City Center are on sale at the Tennessee Republican Party’s website.

According to the website listing, “Receptions will begin at 5:00 pm with the Dinner and Program starting at 6:00 pm. Attire is Business Professional.”

Tickets start at $250 for individuals. The Statesmen’s Dinner at Music City Center is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Tennessee Republican Party.

Reeves has been the governor of Mississippi since 2020. Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the case which led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the U.S. Supreme Court originated because of a Mississippi state law that banned most abortions after the first 15 weeks of pregnancy.
